Vapour Barrier & Roof Insulation

Vapour barrier is the new form of insulation used on ceilings and roofs, which is helping families save a little extra on the heating costs. The main purpose of insulation is to ensure that no heat leaves one’s home, and the heat produced by one’s heaters remains within the walls of the house. Good insulation can really slow down the loss of this heat and prevent the formation of ice dams on the roof.

Adding insulation may be important, however it is just as important to inspect the air barrier (drywall/ plaster) and the vapour barrier to seal off areas from where conditioned air can escape through to an unconditioned living space.
